📣Check out our new manuscript: March of the Mussel: Is Atlantic Canada at risk of zebra mussel (Dreissena polymorpha) invasion? We use ensemble modeling to predict ZM introductions from Central to Atlantic Canada and further spread in already invaded areas. doi.org/10.1139/cjfa...
March of the Mussel: Is Atlantic Canada at risk of zebra mussel (Dreissena polymorpha) invasion?
The invasion of Atlantic Canadian (Eastern Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island) freshwater habitats by the zebra mussel (Dreissena polymorpha) is currently in progress. Manage...

Do you see it....? 👀

This guide to bird identification was produced by a Dr. BIRD from McGill University. That's amazing! I should change my last name to snail and become Sarah E. Snail. 😍😄

Never have I ever...put a DNA lab in a tent beside a lake to test a red swamp crayfish assay and eDNA in-situ analysis kit. There's something poetic about finishing the field season in the same spot as we started it. We had a great day, even with the rain. 🙃⛺️💧🦞

New Paper Alert! 🚨📣
Check-out these aquatic invasive species watchlist for both freshwater (doi.org/10.3391/mbi....) and marine (doi.org/10.3391/mbi....) species. These are the species on our horizon for invading the Maritimes; and are likely to have negative ecosystem impacts if introduced!

Amazing work led by Conrad Pratt on the newly detected marine invasive: ribbed bryozoan (Juxtacribrilina mutabilis). Thanks for the chance to co-author! This was a great use of our marine eDNA program. 🧬💧🐠
New paper alert🚨 We report the occurrence of the seagrass-fouling bryozoan Juxtacribrilina mutabilis in eastern Canada! We found that the species was present since at least 2013 but had largely escaped notice. Important implications for detecting invasions of visually cryptic species.
