The COLLABORATE trial getting underway in the UK will settle this question once and for all. It's a big one for parents of babies <29 weeks and their clinicians when a supplement to maternal milk is needed.

I thought this writing up stage of the PhD would be torture but I'm actually enjoying it. Maybe I'll write a book once the thesis is done.

I've made surprisingly good progress learning Stata, and even cracked a big coding problem all by myself. However, I'm now annoyed with it and wishing I'd just had the confidence to learn R like my stats supervisor told me I should.
The reason for my annoyance? Stata can't tell me IQR 😮

I'm in the process of transcribing parent interviews for my #hie #phd mixed methods study. An emerging theme is that pathways and support often fall down for babies who are not expected to survive but then do, so this is a nicely timed publication. Parallel planning needed.

World Prematurity Day: when I was junior resident (SHO) in an NICU, 1981, we saved our 1st 26 wker. Survival now 90%. 2005 my daughter was born at 24 wk; here day 1 & 19 years later, on her way to becoming a nurse. What a privilege to have spent 44 years in this field
