If you're local, I strongly recommend the 'Made In The Middle' show now on at Riversley Park Museum in Nuneaton, curated by Craftspace. Delightful, tactile, handmade work by 37 artists including my friend Mel Tomlinson who showcases a new piece. On till 22/11 (then I have work on show a week later!)

We first went to Corso Zundert in 2017 and it’s never disappointed. Massive, human-powered dahlia sculptures, crawling the streets of a tiny Dutch village, cheered by the teams that have been building them since January. Designed along strange, obscure, environmental, political or bizarre themes!

Gently charmed by the art materials in #Armani’s behind-the-scenes photos today.

Went to see the newly-installed new Battle of Bosworth sculpture, immediately colonised and completely out-drama’d by weather and sheep. 🤎🤍

God knows I love a deadlift but was reminded today why I've avoided the post-work gym slot for 30+ yrs; clusters of littering bros space-invading loudly.
But the rainbow came out as I left and threw a blanket over my irritation; don't think I've ever seen one so whole or with colours so distinct.

Making apple turnovers with ginger and cinnamon while listening to The Necks. The window are open and I’m in a T-shirt, but it’s raining and dingey, and damn if it hasn’t turned to Autumn while I was looking the other way. 🍂🍁🍂

21st Baron of Dunsany, filmmaker and rewilding advocate Randal Plunkett’s first book ‘Wild Thing’ comes out on October 9th, with a wraparound cover illustrated by me - a mix of drawing and parallel-pen lettering in ink.
Feels like the perfect new project to post on this really sunny day!

I'm just back from a second visit to Efteling in Holland, and I managed a fleeting visit to the Museum this time. Designed by illustrator Anton Pieck, it's one of the world's oldest theme parks, it's completely devoid of corporate/external IP/characters /sponsorship. Eerie, magical and strange!

Proofing artwork for a new book cover. Doesn’t matter how many I do, seeing the art come together is relentlessly satisfying. This one features my photography, illustration + lettering in one cover - and it’s an effervescent book too: YA biog in verse? It shouldn’t work but it does, brilliantly!

Andrea Gibson, 13th August 1975-July 14th 2025.
Over 17 years we worked with, for and because of Andrea so many times I can't think of it all right now. So I'll review that later. For now, here's Andrea and us. What a gift that our lives got to be intertwined. #andreagibson

When a mate makes his own coffee blend, you pay attention (with your taste buds). Insa-ne fruitiness like the flavour you wish for but never quite get with Christmas coffees! @insa_gram will be happy to furnish you with some in exchange for a few quid… 🤎👌🏻☕️

I love it when original artwork gets paired with its human - the person who commissioned it, it was created for or about, or someone not connected at all but who really took a shine to it. You never know who’s going to enquire about a piece.

A day in a nice cool London studio was very welcome today! 🥵 Working on set with both ink AND a makeup bag, for a great team who wanted absolute analogue for an unusual project - out in a couple of weeks’ time.

After 15 mins chatting the stallholder said "I’ve kept you too long, you best head off”. “But I still need to pay for my brooch!” said I. “Have it as a gift", she said, "a really good chat with a stranger's a rare treat.” With no cash to force on her I accepted gracefully. Best £3 I’ve never spent🍁🤎

Spontaneous goodbye card for our lovely neighbours for the past 13 years. We’ll miss them! Not sure they’ll miss our wood chopping, evening chainsawing and 11pm drum’n’bass. 💙💛❤️

New work! This delicious retelling of the Pied Piper of Hamelin by N.J. Knight is eerie and atmospheric!🐀 I drew a detailed surround which weaves in the narrative, made inky backgrounds and used 6+2mm parallel pens for lettering. There are 2 versions of this cover, out Halloween with Murasaki Press.

When I did this artwork in 2014 I had no idea it would be for a record still in demand 10 years later, nor that countless individuals would commit its illistrations to their skin! 😧
This @sagefrancis.bsky.social long out-of-print album has just roared back in a 2025 deluxe anniversary edition.
🧡🤎💛

Part II: a live painting at High Vis Festival in Kings Heath, great art completed and underway.
Props to the kids on bikes who had nowt to paint with but got stuck in regardless with just a fineliner and pack of Poscas tagging their roll of stickers and getting them up. The spirit of graf! 👊🏼

Had a much needed day out in with @strictlykev yesterday. Part I: the Epic Story Of Graffiti exhibition of photographs by @henrychalfant - hundreds of raucously-painted New York subway trainsides captured before they disappeared...
And a little highlight was tagging the barrels 😄
Life-affirming.

Had to escalate the vessel size for this morning’s tea. It will be filled with strong coffee thereafter, until the warm familiar caffeine shakes replace the “watched Threads as a schoolkid” ones.
