It’s a good way to refresh your writing. You and your novel just need a break from each other!

Sounds interesting!

Thank you! 😊

Thank you! I think the fact she says she’ll seek out my other books is most flattering. That’s how we want readers to feel, isn’t it?

The Trial is great too.

It looks like a psychological thriller.

My problem is the opposite - I fall out of love with work I’ve finished, so it’s hard to ‘sell’ it to agents/publishers. Although I did get one novel accepted years after I’d written it! There’s no harm in having projects you go back to.

I’d say the moving on happens when you get absorbed in your next writing project.

It’s very ‘classic’ 😁 My son is 21 and he absolutely loves the old 1970s Dr Who.

Ooh, Dr Who’s been going for about 60 years do it would be difficult to recommend to you what to watch! The ‘modern era’ is from 2005 to now, but you might want to watch the classic era, especially the 1970s. If you can access it (maybe on youtube?) try the episode Spearhead From Space.

I love Douglas Adams’ books! And I am old enough that I was around when they first came out. He used to write for Dr Who, too.

In my first novel I didn’t give my main character a name - it seemed more intimate, putting the reader inside his head instead of seeing him from the outside. Also, names have associations that can affect how a reader feels about a character, so it’s nice to take that out of the equation.
