Everyone in the #yyjbike community needs to hop on their bikes and ride up Lochside to say ‘hi’ to the new little piglets! They are adorable (making the cutest little grunting sounds). I just noticed them on my way home last night and literally slammed on my brakes to stop for a visit. 😍🚲 🐖

Had to go out to pick up dinner after I got home from work. Stopped at a local farm stand to grab some cherries on the way. Couldn’t wait til I got home to eat some. 🍒 🚲

Tired as usual these days, yesterday was a bike+bus day.
I took the bus for 30 min (≈19 km) then biked the last 25 min/7 km to my doctor’s office.
After work the next bus wasn’t for 26 minutes so I biked all the way home (1 hr/23 km).

Tired as usual these days, yesterday was a bike+bus day.
I took the bus for 30 min (≈19 km) then biked the last 25 min/7 km to my doctor’s office.

Reason #2467754346 why Cargo bikes make great car replacements: you can bring something large and awkward (like an inflatable paddle board & paddle) ‘just in case’ you might use it when you meet a friend for a swim. I didn’t end up using it but was glad for the option.

It’s been a while since I had any cargo bike newbies join me for a ride but last week some friends came over on the holiday Tuesday and one of the passengers in this photo really wanted to check out the new splash park near my house.

Central Saanich will be discussing their Speed Regulation Bylaw (pub-centralsaanich.escribemeetings.com/filestream.a...) on Wednesday. If adopted, speed limits on some key roads will be reduced to 30 & 40 kmh. Including 30 on the new sharrow on Wallace Dr between W.Saanich & Stellys

I use my cargo bike for everything- including taking the garbage and Organics bins up and down our long driveway.

A friend, new to the area, said he got weird looks from drivers when he tried to lock his bike to it.

Checked out a new cafe, Azure Pier, in Brentwood Bay on Fri. Nice to have bike parking out front. Can’t beat the patio (on a dock in the bay) & the latte was great! I’ll definitely be spending time here in the future! It’s so quiet all around there (no heavy traffic noise on the patio). #CSaanByBike

We took Keisha with us for dinner at the C12 patio yesterday and she did *so well*! I haven’t had her out on the bike much recently, due to various factors (mostly a 6 month injury), but she doesn’t seem to have lost any comfort on it, thankfully! 🐾🚲☀️

My Load75 has been on a flatbed tow-truck (using BCAA) a couple of times when I got a flat while out. Thankfully (*knock on wood*) I haven’t had to make use of it for ≈2 years.

My mum has moved in with us recently and we've found a gently used chair (6.5 km away) that will make her stay here more comfortable.
Any tips appreciated :-)

Yesterday I made a few local trips by bike to get: brunch, groceries, vet prescription, new pillow, and heating pad.
I appreciate this cargo bike friendly rack just outside the grocery store as their cora rack isn’t always accessible.
As alway, grateful for my local villages.
