4) RELEVANT EXPERIENCE - even if you haven't had previous jobs which show relevant experience, do your best to get work experience (which likely won't be paid). This shows you are willing to learn and are determined to get your dream job.

3) CREATIVITY - this might be the most important as it is a massive part of social media (and something AI can't replicate just yet). I did this through my CV (making it very visual) which is a good place to stand out from the crowd. There are many ways you can do this, e.g. your own social media.

Literacy is another important skill in social media, so make sure you double triple check your application and CV for any spelling mistakes!!! As someone who has been through the hiring process, this is a MAJOR red flag 🚩

Digital design is an important skill in social media. Being able to use Adobe - Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Illustrator is a good start. More recently Canva & CapCut have become prominent in the social world, so make sure you can use those well.

2) RELEVANT SKILLS - although I was currently doing a stint in the Digital Design team at Nike, this would be my first full time Social Media role so I made sure I had all the skills needed to fulfil this..

For example, I was asked about my favourite moment from the previous season - which was Daniel Riccardo winning his redemption race in Monaco! (Bonus point for this being with the team I was interviewing with)
