as a Gen z nurse and a leader of an organization, it is hard for me to see a future in nursing when the organizations that SPEAK for us refuse to FIGHT for us.

TO NOTE: there are people I deeply respect and admire at this conference and often when I share anything critical of systems people take my comments PERSONALLY. please resist the urge.

@dontclockoutorg is a 501c3 nonprofit offering peer support and community for healthcare workers navigating the impacts of moral distress. we were started after a nurse left their shift and didn’t come back. it is that serious.

violence in healthcare will only increase as long as the corporations that showed no urgency in protecting their workforce in the face of a mass disabling pathogen like sars_cov_2 are allowed to continue to exploit the bodies of healthcare workers and patients for profits.

healthcare workers are being targeted and violently attacked, held hostage and killed in the US just as healthcare workers have been tortured or killed by the Zionist entity for defending freedom in Palestine.

brands should be helping fund grassroots orgs led by healthcare workers that are offering mental health support, community, advocacy and building Justice coalitions. put your money where it should be if you want to be able to continue to commodify and/or sell to the healthcare workforce.

Definitely the goal here, don’t want it to be niche, instead want to bridge those gaps and while providing education on the complexities! Thank you for this insight/feedback 🙏

This "moral injury" parallels some of the same logic deployed in lawsuits aimed at dismantling EMTALA, & limiting reproductive care access in the ED.

"Moral injury" and "duty to care" are not the same thing, because that depends on the person making the claim to the former.

Defining the practice of medicine as "what physicians care about" seems to be another abandonment of the principle of healthcare as a right.
