These 4 Democrats voted today in favor of disenfranchising potentially millions of voters, severely undermining our democracy. I sure hope their constituents are already planning how to boot them out. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...
The vote count was 220 to 208, with four Democrats voting for the bill and zero Republicans opposing it. Democrats who voted for the bill were Reps. Jared Golden (Maine), Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (Wash.), Henry Cuellar (Texas) and Ed Case (Hawaii).

What you can do: Call your congresspeople. Tell them to stand up for national parks and roll back these devastating cuts. Capitol switchboard: 202-224-3121. Be kind to park staff who are still here. They're doing their best despite having way fewer staff. Share articles and post about your support on social media. If you hear about a protest, join it! Maybe even organize your own.

I'm heading to the Grand Canyon for a family vacation so of course I made some zines. Because that's my thing lately.

National parks had 331.9 million visits in 2024. That's 6.36 million more visits than 2023. The Grand Canyon alone had 4.9 million visits in 2024. Despite record numbers of visitors... The Trump administration is making devastating cuts to national parks. They cut the National Park Service workforce by 9%. They fired more than 1,000 staff, froze vacant positions, and delayed the hiring of seasonal employees. They canceled 34 building leases that house visitor centers, law enforcement offices, museums, and hubs for critical park programs. You may already be seeing the effects. These are just some of the likely results of the Trump administration's cuts. Closed visitor centers and campgrounds. Canceled ranger programs and tours. Fewer search and rescue staff. Longer wait times at entrance stations and facilities. Dirty restrooms and less trash removal. Less monitoring of water quality for toxic algae. Less trail maintenance.
