Andrew Cuomo is driven by ego, not the wishes of others. He has never served New Yorkers. He does not deserve anyone’s vote. (13)

A lot of people have goodwill towards Cuomo because of his father, but he is NOT his father. Mario Cuomo never wanted something like the Tappan Zee Bridge to be renamed after him, but Andrew did it anyways, ignoring the important indigenous history behind the previous name for the bridge! (12)

…on the bodies of the THOUSANDS of elderly folks he condemned to dying in nursing homes through lies about their safety. (11)

I genuinely cannot understand people standing by Cuomo. Even his biggest “claim to fame” (supporting NY through Covid) is built on the work of others (the first responders, and other everyday folks) and (10)

However, why not turn to someone like Brad Lander, who has LOTS of experience and has worked on behalf of New Yorkers in many meaningful ways for years? Or Adrienne Adams? Scott Stringer? They’re all very experienced politicians as well without the absolutely bullshit crap on Cuomo’s plate. (9)

While I was eager to vote Zohran Mamdani number one, I can understand some folks being skeptical about his government experience (though experience can be extremely overrated, like in Cuomo’s case, when that experience is full of bullying and bad decisions). (8)

…Michael Bloomberg (who has proven himself to be a similarly ego-driven politician with little interest in actually helping New Yorkers and was a quite destructive mayor himself). (7)

Cuomo has illegally coordinated with PACs working on his behalf, which are funded by DoorDash (trying to prevent their workers getting better pay and protections), Bill Ackerman (who supported Trump financially as well), and (6)

Cuomo stole money from the MTA and used it for ski resorts upstate. I’m from upstate originally (around Albany), and even when I lived outside of NYC, I supported my tax dollars being used to help the millions of people who rely on the MTA. (5)

His ego meant that he stood against anything Bill de Blasio tried to do for NYC, stifling many progressive ideas that de Blasio campaigned on and tried to get done. (4)

He stood against getting the IDC (the Democrats who voted with Republicans) out of the state senate. Once the voters got the IDC out, we were able to pass lots of positive state-wide legislation, such as enshrining early voting and other voting reforms. (3)

I’ve been anti-Cuomo for a long time. The things he claims credit for during his tenure as Governor were mostly implemented by others. He often stood in opposition to important legislation that was wanted by many New Yorkers, and now he was behind these things all along. (2)
