Scouting, Discworld, SPN, crochet, science, history, politics, podcasts, bad singing, Lego, theatre and books. Faking adulting every day. Unsolicited DMs = 🚫
Since installing just 7 panels last November on our Southeast England home: in the first half of this year we've had over half our electricity from solar. Looking forward to seeing the second half of the year, although obviously days are getting shorter now. But it's outdone our expectations!

I only spotted this sign after exiting the muddy, shaded woodland path it guards. I did not see any goblins.

Them: Can you deliver training on environmental sciences teaching? In Oman

Me: Yes. But it has to include a visit to the aquarium.

Them: Er, that might be difficult to organise

Me: do it

Them: We can't take 30 adults away from the training institute

Me: fishy fishy fishy very important

Most of the pupae look like they've emptied now...

Ruby Tiger Moth. It's nice when you're doing the chore of putting the bins out and you're rewarded with this beauty on the wheelie bin. Let's hope it moves before it's emptied into the waste truck... #moths

One man does not an entire country make.

In my friendship group, pretty much anyone my age (ie mid life) thinks Trump is a lunatic, to put it mildly.

He's not got many supporters here.

Caterpillar has now disappeared - assume it's died and dropped off. About two weeks since first discovering the peg. Pupae still there.

Great, thanks Gavin! A I'm still keeping an interested eye on them. This video is from this morning

I think the caterpillar has slightly curled up a bit?

Not much changed today.

What are these on my peg? Even my personal entomologist @gremlingraeme.bsky.social can't id them... possible parasitic wasp eggs?

Spring definitely feels as though it's springing right now.

Crisp air, blue skies, new growth.

Waking up.

The load consumption graph for my electricity usage bears a very close correlation with every time I have a cuppa

I'm incredibly lucky to have spent the last week visiting schools in the Sultanate of Oman for work. Definitely a privilege to have this opportunity. Also managed to convince the bosses to allow me to visit the aquarium for research!

I can quite confidently say that Trump's approval rating in the UK is pretty dire.

I mean, his name is a synonym with fart, yet I'm pretty sure which one most Brits would rather be stuck in an elevator with.

Did me an embroidery kit. Loved it. Gave it away to a friend. Might do another one.

We have the Greebo & the Librarian plushie from when we visited the Emporium (back when it was a shop)! Also you'll see in my profile that I crocheted the Discworld, based on patterns from www.planetjune.com/blog/amiguru..., although I chose different colours and made the Cori Celesti 3D

On days like these I remember that Drew Barrymore clip and feel inspired to dance in the rain, but then remember that I'm in the UK and it's 4°C outside and that's hail that'll sting you so I change track to a cuppa and a book instead

Ok, so I can't be the only one that peers at bookshelves in the background of photos. Most interested in the names of the highlighted books below - the incongruous blue & white editions among the leather bound collection, and whether the books His Majesty's hand is resting on have any significance?
