Out for a run this morning behind a hotel by the M6, I discovered the Lancaster canal - wow! Love these secret little pockets of peace & beauty we have tucked away in UK...😍

My piece for chamber choir and lever harp will be performed in Lincolnshire on December 13th. 'Carmina Iocunda' is a set of 8 beautiful medieval English poems set as songs with harp accompaniment, do go along and hear Eira's lovely playing if you're in the area - & please spread the word!

Went to Snowshill manor today in Gloucestershire, to see the musical instruments. What a disappointment that the collection is chaotic, badly lit & with no labelling. Worse still, the original house & collection all funded by the spoils of slavery. It really leaves a bitter taste in the mouth...😮‍💨

Playing in the musical 'Bal Maiden' in the Regal Theatre Redruth this weekend. It reminds me of my time working in West End shows in the 80s, minus the fleas in the pit, the homeless guitarist living in the greenroom, and the padlocked fire-doors - Oh those were the days! 😆.Come & see us!

Come & see us if you're anywhere near Ellesmere Port or Boseley in Cheshire(?) we're playing there on 16th & 17th October. You'll love our music if you appreciate a blend of cultures and the soothing sounds of the Celticharp and African Kora. And please re-post to help spread the word! 🙏

Lovely to play at the #hartlepoolfolkfestival on Friday with Jali Bakary Konteh, what a wonderful place the Town Hall Theatre is, long may it survive the perils of the 21st century...🤞

A beautiful morning here, with a romantic mist behind @eileandonan.bsky.social - looks like a stage backdrop to Sleeping Beauty or Gisele perhaps....❤️

#Rehearsing for the next load of #gigs on a dull day in the Highlands - the only distraction being the odd duck...🥰

Lovely evening playing at #Dunvegan Castle for a #wedding last night. It was magic to play some pieces by Rory dall Morison the 18th century #harper for the Mcleods who had lived & worked there, I wonder if his spirit smiled as the notes rang around the Castle walls...

Got home to Cornwall to find a glut of the most beautiful apples - top left Worcester, right Devon Quarrandon, bottom Tom Putt. Any ideas what we can do with them? Don't particularly like cider..🙈

Currently stuck here after crashing the car. Waiting for insurance company to arrange a car so we can get back to Cornwall, but it could be worse....🥰

Beautiful otter this morning that we watched from the boathouse as we had coffee...💕

I'm just loving these young idiot pine martens - one has his foot stuck under the squirrel feeder lid because the other one is sitting on it..🤔😆

The beautiful coral sand and shells of a west Highlands beach. My historical romance novel 'The Sea Heart' is set here, a coming of age story of tragedy and love around the time of the 1st world war - and it's lovely to be doing the final edit right here, in situ...❤️

Privileged to have these two little characters at the bottom of our garden here in Kintail at the moment. Just love them..❤️

Fab day at #Priddy #Folkfestival yesterday despite the heat! From Vivaldi to Dave Brubeck, with the haunting rythms of west Africa and some dazzling Celtic jigs & reels, & all this in 32 degrees - it was hotter yesterday in Somerset than it was in The Gambia, & you can't say that very often! 😁🧡

Out on the local cliffs this evening to clear my head...🥰

Our little medieval meadow called 'little close' (normally full of butterflies except when I get the camera out 🙈) we have Ringlets, small skippers, Meadow browns, Speckled wood, & grasshoppers although the numbers of commas & fritillaries have drastically dropped 🙁

These hollyhocks seeded themselves in a ridiculously unpromising crack in the concrete driveway - and they're better now than when I coddled them in the nice loamy flowerbed behind. So how does that work? 🤔🙈

I confess I have written a novel (of all the daft things to get involved with 🙈), so just had a wonderful time at the #LFOW where it was lovely to chat with fellow authors for hours, who understand exactly what it's like to be terminally delusional...🤭

Solstice anniversary stroll on the beach last night with my two best friends, the spouse of 39 yrs and the Beddy-whippet. Such a beautiful evening watching the sunset & sand martens, but so sad to hear the news this morning. Please humans - can we STOP killing each other? It's not much to ask..😪

It was a privilege to accompany the amazing artist and writer Jackie Morris at her exhibition with the incredible Tamsin Abbot on Exmoor yesterday. Wonderful to be part of a celebration of the Wild Gods and the myths of Britain's past, at the turn of the #summersolstice in such a magical place. 🌍🌙
