Oxford has a beautiful, grand, new humanities building and a copyright library; we serve local kids in a leaky building and have our jobs threatened every year. The fact we publish alongside one another is remarkable

Oh I hear this. I also get repeated nudges to listen to “dark academia” and “atmospheric library” playlists which don’t quite land when I’m sitting under fluorescent lighting trying fruitlessly to submit a £2.33 reimbursement claim for hours
