Reader, knitter, sailor, not all at once. Came here for #TheArchers, hope to find other knitters.
Is this all they’ve got? The video of the *pipe bomber* had more to go on than this, and it took 5 years to get a possible perp.

Distinctive like Kaiser Soze …

I have a pair to keep my toes warm during acupuncture sessions. They also double (after washing) as egg cosies 😀

To each their own, chacun á son gout, etc., but it completely changed the character of the house, and the welcomingly warm library became coldly sterile. Oh well. 🤷🏼‍♀️

When our last house was resold, we looked at the pictures. We had cherry cabinets in the kitchen, and the “library“ was all custom birch cabinetry and a beautiful deep blue carpet that contrasted with the birch. Our buyers had painted ALL the wood white, and replaced the carpet with white.

I heard about someone who bought a house partly because of all the beautiful roses in the garden. When they took possession, the roses were all gone.
The seller had potted them up in advance and sunk them in the beds, and because they were potted and not “fixtures”, the buyer had no recourse.

And that’s why you should never do it.

Seem to remember you pondering whether to dig them up and take them with you. (Note to self: if I sell my house, ask buyer which plants they don’t want.)

Also, the stopping and harassing happen before they see your ID. That’s like saying “don’t carry cash, so you won’t be mugged.” You’ll still be mugged, but won’t lose as much … or will be beaten up for not having enough cash. Lose-lose.

My spouse’s family goes all the way to when Massachusetts was a colony. Is he supposed to carry his family tree with him?
Interesting factoid: autocorrect changed Bovino to Bovine.

Bovino skates right over the point that he’s a US CITIZEN.
REAL ID issued to citizens and green card holders.
Yes, green card holders have to carry it with them at all times.
Not every citizen is an immigrant, not even the brown ones
What sort of immigration papers should a citizen carry?

Oh right. They all sound the same to me ☹️

Failed twice: first time for approaching a roundabout too fast; second time for approaching it too slow!
Canada and US tests are much easier, and in some States now you don’t even to parallel park!

But also on reception at Grey Gables? I’m sure she was heard there, or maybe the scene shifted when I wasn’t paying attention 😳 #TheArchers

Welcome back!

That seems … cheap? 23m each? OTOH, what a massive waste of money that could be spent actually, y’know, Securing the Homeland, instead of deporting long-term, (mostly) law-abiding immigrants.

Setting aside for a moment that a year ago he was in “the press” - he “doesn’t understand” that the press have been covering wars, conflicts, and other geopolitical events far longer than he has been in [his air-conditioned] office.

I LOVED that film!

4/3 (if Douglas Adams can do it, so can I)
TL;DR if a literate reader, whose native language is English, has to read it three times to get the (presumably) intended meaning of the sentence, it needs to be rewritten. -30-

3/3 < Many years ago I was a proofreader, a role that seems to have been replaced in the WaPo, and others, by autocorrect. I don’t want to get into the intricacies of grammar here; however, I think it behooves any serious newspaper to be as clear as possible (see what I did there?) >

2/3 < As written, the emphasis lands on “verifying that the victims were … members of the cartels …”. Better alternatives are “However, the administration … [didn’t disclose] any evidence verifying…” or even better, “…evidence that verifies …” >
