Wow a submission from Mr Disinformation himself 😍

(aka australian flavoured heartland institute)

📩 pls dm me if you want to dig through these documents together - would love to hear what people think!

Going through submissions to Australian Select Committee on Information Integrity on Climate Change + Energy.

Big mixed bag of entries from people *concerned* about disinformation and people unfortunately *swindled* by disinformation.

Some you can just guess without even clicking into them 🤷‍♀️

But why place climate denier matt canavan on the committee 🙄 Are they going to investigate him?

Exxon also can't seem to think of new marketing strategies - here's an ad from six years ago, where they use a kid to explain "science" paired with an ad I got the other day, in 2025

It's not science if you've spent decades funding a false solution that *still* has nothing to speak for

whenever i feel deflated i just google old cartoons of the standard oil company and remember if big oil could be taken down once they can be taken down again

(see - standard oil co. of new jersey v. united states)

Unfortunately, this strategy is a pattern that has historically been used by other research institutions.

See - BP talking about how their partnership with Harvard and Tufts allow them to shape (i.e. weaken) international energy discussions.

The Monash Woodside partnership poisons the well for academic research.

This association enables bad faith actor Woodside to steer time and funding into false solutions like carbon capture, hydrogen - even directing research back into carbon footprints (!)

Shame @monashuniversity.bsky.social

Awful journalism from legacy outlets BBC + SCMP reporting on info they couldn't verify on Yurong Jiang, Harvard's commencement speaker

1.) Verify it? 2.) She volunteered for a gov backed environmental agency?

Outlets will call themselves impartial and then espouse the most xenophobic takes 🙄

The exhibit also had an egregious amount of hydrogen and biofuels advocacy wrapped in it - maybe about a third of the exhibit was dedicated to hydrogen advocacy?

@sciencemuseum.org.uk also has an exhibit (sponsored by Adani + Total's Adani Green Energy) which houses an eerily similar energy game. No online version, but when I played it there was a large emphasis on the instability of wind + solar (‪@cultureunstained.bsky.social‬ do great research on this 🙂)
