Went to Wallasea to try for some Shorties, but they had been out hunting until mid morning.

Instead we got this beautiful Barn Owl with stunning markings.

Aborted a trip to Elmley today. Was planning to see the Shorties but it’s too grey and drizzly.

So here is my first ever attempt at photographing one a few weeks back on another grey day in fading light!

A trip to Canvey Island yesterday proved a fruitless task. Someone had chopped down the trees they roost in.

However this Goldcrest posed beautifully. Taken well into dusk I managed to get my shutter speed down to 1/125s
