Dry mustard powder AND celery salt. I also think it should be baked as a casserole with bread crumb topping … and not just served as saucy pasta. (Luckily I bought ingredients recently and can make this sometime soon!)

Yeah, I grew up with one made in the ‘70s, it was a wall-hanging where you removed felt ornaments from numbered pockets and attached them to a felt tree. It was still fun, and the repetition each year reinforced it as a tradition. My mom’s yearly job was done once she retrieved it from storage.

Unfortunately, in US journalism it is considered neutral to spread a lie, but it is considered "biased" to call out a lie. So, there is a structural asymmetry that rewards colorful lies with virality.

The New Yorker’s twee, propriety style guide demonstrated in this terrible article/take’s blurb is no longer a quaint affectation; it annoyed me enough to learn the difference between an umlaut and a “diaeresis.”
