A little delay while some clueless billionaires "audit" whether they're necessary -- or whatever -- yeah, no. As if most fire departments can afford to get another set of airline tickets or fund another trip. People will die and property will be lost because of this decision. Unacceptable.

I made guac, and then the guac made me because it sure turned out okay. Z baked brie, because how can you not? Cap was our north star. The patients waited. The fires darkened.

Then we went back across town to finish the ladder tasks, ones which we'd been too soggy to endure earlier. And then, it being Thursday, we charcuteried, because we're only on this planet for a breath and because cheese and crax are self care.

My left ass (technical term) complained violently afterwards because I am a fragile flower, but it was just being whiney (valid). The new guy visited for his interview and we are optimistic- he seems great.

I studied up on rural hitch and checked up on the latest impending paramyxovirus du jour as I dried out. Then we had an enormous patient who needed help, from four of us, getting carried up too many stairs.

I worked yesterday and it was a lovely shift. We almost missed breakfast, which is a sacred time on C shift. It was a close call, salvaged at the last moment. Then we got completely soaked doing many checks on the ladder truck in the pouring rain.
