This was what I saw outside Union Station today around 1pm - about 10 police/military vehicles and 20 soldiers/police milling around some peaceful protests and people walking in and out of Union Station. There was nothing to warrant this display of force.

And taking away food assistance for low-income families, and student loans and Pell grants for those trying to get an education - that isn’t enough for them, either.

Gutting Department of Education staff - many former teachers themselves - will do nothing to benefit teaching and learning, boost student achievement, reduce the nation’s educator shortage, or increase access to high-quality education. It just jeopardizes education and harms the laid off employees
