Latest chapter is out.

Giffard, a knight & mercenary from the Languedoc, is one answer to why I write. Characters like that come alive, howl at me to be let on to the page.

Books energize our intellectual life, our thought and make us all happier. Ditching the doomscroll for a day and reading instead is good for everyone.

And @asauthors.bsky.social along with other groups has a great initiative that they're taking to the politicians eager for our vote.

Doing an app startup? Maybe it's time to figure out how it's going to make money. Hint: customers.

When nerdy Galen's brother steals his phone and makes a cringeworthy dating profile using AI he is completely unprepared for what ensues.

"Mr AI Profile".

A little romantic comedy story for the times. Enjoy. :-)

Great care: do a demo OK to take to a shopping centre to get reactions. It's all you need at first. Avoid expensive course correction because you didn't get customer eyes early enough.

So much #WritingCommnity at #GenreCon today. Reading my manuscript out loud to a room full of people?

I went through some things.

Software engineer for 20 years. Love my fellow engineers, but if you run a startup and try to "save money" by starting out with no UX designers, your app will die. Folks will churn out, they'll uninstall. There's no 'sensible defaults' for app UX.

Seriously. Friends don’t let friends use AI to “create” stuff.

This post (in the white border) appeared on my socials, and I’ve greyed out parts to protect the guilty.

The image, being AI is not copyrightable so I’ve included the authors crap AI image … with some (in blue) annotations from me.

In my opinion the "memory" feature, and especially AI agents, are insecure by design.

Anyone using one of these systems is basically opening themselves up to their entire system being remotely pwned.

A "trained" AI is a collection of weights. The original data is in there, but the companies don't want you to know that.

It's considered a security problem to be able to retrieve it. But security researchers have done just that:

In Australia the minimum wage is $24/hr - awu.net.au/minimum-wage/

Not $3/hr!

AI labelling companies - some created by tech execs who exited the Silicon Valley AI companies they now on-sell to - are stealing from employees & trying to dodge the law to do so.

Currently reading: www.ashleykalagianblunt.com/cold-truth

The themes of parental tech issues, strained sisterly relationships & scammers gone wild really hit home for me.

I’ve had the book for 4 days & I’m 3/4 way thru! Fast for me.

Apps seem simple. But over 20 years of app development I found appreneurs didn’t know what they were getting for their six-figure app price tag.
