Honestly, Lost Records only getting one nomination and otherwise snubbed was bad enough.
But it was outright robbed right here.

The fact that Labor are still so committed to AUKUS after this mess reads like a bad joke.
Why would we want a government with such different values as an ally?

An independent path for AUS should be the starting point - along with humanitarian visas for the people that regime are victimising.

I try not to be negative about certain games. Because I get that there are elements to them other people really like and I'm just missing.
But I cannot force myself to do that with Double Exposure.

Even putting what they did to Chloe aside.
The vibe, story and characters were all way off for me.

Perhaps building critical infrastructure on top of a single point of failure was a mistake.

This is something we either fix now or in 50 years deal with artificial organs, cars and appliances not functioning for hours at a time.
Given how we handled climate change, I'm not optimistic.

I think the housing crisis is at the point where hard limits need to be placed on the # of homes that can be owned by an investor.

Things like borrowing limits slow the damage, but we actually need to wind back the damage that has already been done.

Housing is a human right, not an investment.

As long as the major parties continue to treat housing as nothing more than an investment vehicle, the problem if only going to get worse.

At some point Australia needs to have a serious conversation on if we will accept mass housing insecurity or decommodify housing, considering it a human right.

Because the democratic party establishment is effectually a retirement home for rich, corporate-owned geriatrics with nothing remotely close to a spine (except when it comes to fighting anyone that would pull the party even slightly to the left).

Pretty crazy how the plutocrats seem to have learnt nothing from history.
I went to an hopelessly underfunded public school and even I learned about the French revolution and the reign of terror

Maybe being rich makes you think you are immortal or immune from the tides of history (and guillotines)?

If only Labor were willing to actually run on principles, rather than just being the lesser evil wing of the establishment uniparty.

The year is almost out and they have only made the housing crisis worse.
Nothing that actually helps me pay my rent or meaningfully helps with cost of living.

I was honestly shocked by the Debs quote. That is not something I thought I would live to see from an elected democrat - let alone the next mayor of NYC.

In an election that has been full of plenty of hopeful moments. That is what gave me real hope for the future of the US.

Pivoting right utterly failed in 2024?
Clearly the answer is to move even further right!

I swear these consultants would advise an anti interracial marriage campaign before they would even think about maybe pivoting to the populist left, even a little.

It would not be liberalism, if it were not paving the way for fascism.
They have done more to spur on the rise of fascism than actual fascists have at this point.

Here’s Greens leader @larissawaters.bsky.social on This is Why We Can’t Have (More) Nice Things. Why is poverty deepening while privilege grows? Why does a nurse pay a higher proportion of tax than someone with $10m in a SMSF? Big biz and billionaires have built an echo chamber entrenching inequity.

I think there is an argument for trying to improve consistency with the franchise.
Things like including ODSTs and tying in better with Reach and Halo: The Flood etc.

But you cannot justify throwing out the aesthetic style of the game. Especially when that aesthetic was the best in the series imo.
