I've been working on a memoir of the horse rescue I helped manage three years ago, but realized I much prefer being told a story rather than reading these days. So, I've decided to start releasing my content as a serialized podcast. Hoping to get some chapters out in the next month or two.

This fellow fell down many years ago but didn't give up. He held himself up and now his branches lift up to the sky. He is sleeping now, but even though half of his roots are out of the ground, he has a full crown of leaves in the summer and is just beautiful.

I took this photo four years ago of a shallow pond, deep in the woods at Umstead State Park here in NC. When the air is very still, the oils from the decomposing leaves gather on the surface of the water and create this rainbow effect.

A suggestion of a rainbow over the main barn at sunset.

I was never the kind of scientist who believed that a lack of proof meant a lack of possibility. The older I get, the more I believe that a sense of wonder and an openness to unproven things is more valuable in our understanding of the world.

A beautiful cold morning at the farm. I am privileged to still have access to this land, but my dream is to make it a place of healing, and bring the horses back home. Just have to find a way to buy it . . .

Hoping that one day this farm can be a place of healing. I was able to rescue the horses from here, but would like to bring them back home when they need a soft landing.
