The aedicule was erected after the death of Francesco Bruni (1803-1875), an entrepreneur in the dyeing and silk industries. The Bruni family's funerary monument consists of a base supporting a miniature pyramid, made of Saltrio stone and flanked by two marble sculptures: the figure of Sorrow , dressed in ancient style and with an elegant hairstyle, is depicted protecting a bronze urn with her right hand, while with her left she indicates the name of the family that owns the tomb; on the other side of the portal is a sphinx guarding the tomb. The main façade is further characterised by the richly decorative portal leading to the afterlife: the architrave is decorated with the image of the solar disk flanked by the heads of winged serpents, symbolising the God-judge who separates light from darkness, while the jambs repeat the figure of the handmaid playing music in the rite of the Feast of the Dead

The House of the Seven Works of Mercy. The first floor is pierced by three cross-windows above and below which are six bas-reliefs representing six of the corporal works of mercy, namely from top to bottom and from left to right : bury the dead; visit prisoners; assist the sick; feed the hungry; give drink to those who are thirsty; clothe the naked. The seventh work of mercy (welcoming pilgrims) is symbolized by the house itself, which was originally an inn. ••• Flutist's House. The facade is crowned by a richly decorated gable with numerous terracotta decorations: scrolls with acanthus leaves and lion's head; “Anno” “1669” cartouches with acanthus leaves and small mascarons; ram's head; flute player, mascaron, cherub and fruit garlands; volutes topped with putti. Statues representing Faith, Hope and Love.

Campo Santo is a large Catholic cemetery in Sint-Amandsberg, Ghent, Belgium. It sits atop a 19-meter-high hill and was opened on December 8, 1847. In the black and white photo, some steps and the road leading up the hill with graves on either side.
