Alarming reporting from @washingtonpost.com. Can we please require nutrition labels to include the amount of micro and nanoplastics per serving for foods and beverages packaged in plastic? We deserve transparency about what's in the things we eat and drink. www.washingtonpost.com/climate-envi...

As someone who lives in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, I've become used to extremely cold weather. But this "Arctic blast" feels colder than any past winter.
Polar vortex-linked Arctic outbreak to put U.S., parts of Europe in deep freeze for next couple of weeks. Oh and at least one major winter storm is on its way, from KC to DC the way it looks right now.

The former President Jimmy Carter has died at the age of 100. Read Lawrence Wright’s recollection of the late President’s life and career.
Remembering a Visit to Jimmy Carter in Plains, Georgia
The late President’s priorities were remarkably prescient, and his personal qualities offered a dismaying contrast to so much of the present state of American politics.

Happy holidays to everyone except Justin Baldoni and his PR team for this gross smear campaign against Blake Lively.
Blake Lively has filed a legal complaint laying out an alleged campaign to tarnish her reputation after she accused Justin Baldoni of misconduct on the set of “It Ends With Us.” A New York Times investigation shows how the fallout unfolded. nyti.ms/41G3a2u

Finally saw Wicked tonight and was blown away. The hype has been warranted. A stunning spectacle of a movie and Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande are incredible. Part 2 can’t come soon enough.

Finished reading Atul Gawande’s Being Mortal this morning. I found it captivating, eye-opening, and important for the times we’re living in. It’s also very well written, as I breezed through it within a week. This should be required reading for everyone in our society.

I look forward to the day when it’s been discovered that life does, indeed, live on these faraway planets.
Uranus and Neptune both have a super weird magnetic field unlike anything else in the solar system.

The answer might be a giant ocean of supercritical water, 5,000 miles thick, hiding inside each ice giant.

Uranus and Neptune May Conceal Vast Oceans of Water (Gift Article)
A scientist simulated the contents of the ice giant worlds, and found that a fluid layer may explain each planet’s strange magnetic field.

SIX on Broadway is fantastic. Incredibly smart and witty, and packed with energy and an insanely talented cast. It’s about time we celebrate the women in history who are more known for their relationships than their accomplishments.
