🚧 The primary barriers to industrial electrification today are the economics, grid readiness, and technological maturity. Enacting a suite of policies can help overcome these barriers and reduce industrial emissions. We need policy leadership to tackle the industrial sector's emissions problem.

Not only can electric technologies (like arc furnaces, heat pumps, electric boilers, and many more), power industrial processes while cutting pollutant emissions, they also create benefits for industrial firms and society.

⚡ Industrial electrification refers to swapping fossil fuels for electricity (using carbon-free resources), using electric technologies (electric resistance, induction, heat pumps, and even lasers and electron beams) capable of delivering heat at all temperature ranges demanded by industry.

👷‍♀️ The industrial sector makes the products and materials we rely on every day. Industrial processes are responsible for 84% of industrial non-feedstock fossil fuel use globally, and industry is the largest energy consumer and emitter of planet-heating emissions (and other pollutants).

🐌And, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act will dramatically slow deployment of new electricity generation at a time of rapidly growing demand--to the tune of 120 GW by 2030 and 330 GW by 2035.

👷‍♀️The One Big Beautiful Bill Act will cost the U.S. workforce 840,000 jobs in 2030 and 790,000 jobs in 2035 as new investment in domestic energy and manufacturing falters.

💰The One Big Beautiful Bill Act will increase annual energy bills by $170 billion across all American householders between 2025 and 2034.

Saw this today and wanted to make folks aware that Regulations.gov (official U.S. gov website home to tens of thousands of regulatory dockets and public comments/public record) has indicated it will be offline April 25-28 for a cloud migration...hopefully this info will not get deleted or altered.

The imposition of Canadian tariffs is about to mess with grid reliability and energy prices. What an absolutely short-sighted and uninformed policy.
