Making nice with the vile Mamdani is probably understandable at this stage, but don't think many of us fathom a Ukraine plan that puts the US on the hook for that corrupt country's security and enforcement; a bizarre congratulatory meeting with the ISIS terrorist dictator of Syria; an EO barring every American state from protecting its own citizens against the worst horrors of Al while he enthusiastically promotes Al froedoms and subsidies and cozies up to Big Tech CEOs who'll abandon him in a nanosecond; his seeming blindness to remaining America-destroying immigration flaws like the H1-B visa scam you've exposed and the flood of Chinese students/workers still in the US, all to such cruel detriment to American workers. … I doubt I'm alone - after believing in his uniquely heroic intentions for this country and supporting him since 2016 - struggling now to understand so much or what no's colng. Without question, the political and social alternative is certain death for this country. But how can he expect his average MAGA voter to stay warmly close to nim while ne appears to de pushing nim farther and farther out into the cold? And if he doesn't remain the herculean mainstay of this country's MAGA reforms, how can the feckless, cowardly GOP expect to keep noid or congross? And how can we navicate our way through the nastu GOP/MAGA infighting now gurgling to the surface at the same We "put not our trust in princes," but we have trusted that Almighty God empowered Donald Trump to do the good, near-impossible things this country needs to survive. Please, Lord, continue to be with him...

Not going to repost DJT's howling threats against Democratic lawmakers. I'll just say: 1. We still have free speech here. 2. People can still oppose the president. 3. No-George Washington wouldn't have hanged the lawmakers because HE WAS VERY CAREFUL TO STAY STRICTLY WITHIN THE BOUNDS OF HIS OFFICE AS PRESIDENT. He didn't want to be a king or dictator. Plus, he was in his right mind. #NoKings

Screenshot: One thing that has become really clear since yesterday is that we live in at least two different realities. Talking to a friend who only knew Charlie as a Christian motivational speaker because that's all that ever came across her feed. Showed me videos I've never seen before of him saying perfectly reasonable and empowering things. I showed her videos she'd never seen before of his racism, misogyny, homophobia, advocating for violence against specific groups of people. She was horrified by his remarks about Pelosi's husband's attacker being bailed out and celebrated for his violent act. She was horrified by a number of things that he said, but she had never seen or heard them before, the same as I had never seen or heard the generalized clips of him sounding like a perfectly nice loving man and father. Neither of us had a whole picture of this man. I mentioned he was a known white supremacist and she thought I was joking. She talked about him giving a speech about finding your purpose and doing good in the world and I thought she was joking.

Yesterday was unexpectedly my last day in the Office. I was summarily fired via memo from Main Justice that did not give a reason for my termination. Every person lucky enough to work in this office constantly hears four words to describe our ethos: Without Fear or Favor. Do the right thing, the right way, for the right reasons without fear of retribution and without favor to the powerful. For the majority of my nearly ten years in SDNY, fear was never really conceivable. We don't fear bad press; we have the luxury of exceptional security keeping us physically safe; and, so long as we did our work with integrity, we would get to keep serving the public in this office. Our focus was really on acting "without favor." That is, making sure people with access, money, and power were not treated differently than anyone else; and making sure this office remained separate from politics and focused only on the facts and the law. But we have entered a new phase where "without fear" may be the challenge. If a career prosecutor can be fired without reason, fear may seep into the decisions of those who remain. Do not let that happen. Fear is the tool of a tyrant, wielded to suppress independent thought. Instead of fear, let this moment fuel the fire that already burns at the heart of this place. A fire of righteous indignation at abuses of power. Of commitment to seek justice for victims. Of dedication to truth above all else. It has been an honor to fight for those principles by your side. Maine Center for Economic Policy Make no mistake: the reconciliation bill that squeaked through the Senate today is a five-alarm fire for Maine's working families. We're staring at the biggest health-care cuts in U.S. history-over a trillion dollars ripped from Medicaid and the ACA-plus the largest food-aid rollback ever recorded, all to bankroll the single largest upward wealth transfer in modern memory. In one breath, Congress tells rural Mainers their hospitals, maternity wards, and SNAP benefits are too expensive; in the next, it drops more than $1 trillion in tax breaks into the laps of billionaires and multinational corporations. And to top it off, the package balloons the national debt by $4 trillion-the fiscal equivalent of torching the house, then handing the arsonist a platinum card. We appreciate that Senators Collins and King both voted against the bill; they were right to oppose this economic wrecking ball. But that will be cold comfort in the face of overwhelming Republican indifference to Mainers if this bill becomes law: higher premiums and out-of-pocket costs, decimated rural economies as hospitals shutter, and tens of thousands of Mainers shoved deeper into hunger and poverty. This budget isn't 'responsible'—it's callous, reckless, and immoral. It tells nurses, loggers, fishermen, and childcare workers they're unworthy of our collective care while Congress bends over backwards to serve the whims of the ultrarich. It's not too late for Senator Collins to use her power and influence to bring others in her caucus along. Congress must scrap this sham and deliver a budget that lifts working people instead of sacrificing them.

The glaring difference is that Biden’s big supporter wouldn’t have been a nazi sympathizer, trump has no principles, and anyone who embraces him is a horrible person. So this just isn’t very persuasive.
