From beyond the door, her breathing stops. A second, then two, then three passes, nothing but silence hanging in the air. Subaru’s heart stutters, sharp pinpricks of fear piercing the muscle like errant shrapnell. The space within his ribcage is suddenly too small, bone pressing into his lungs and heart, chest on the edge of collapsing in, crumbling like sand. Breathe, breathe, breathe, he prays, implores, begs, demands of himself, of her, he doesn’t know, he doesn’t know, he just needs her to breathe, needs her to be alive, needs her to be steady, needs— “Barusu,” a voice, her voice, calls out, raspy with disuse, echoing in the empty space. There comes the sound of shifting chains, of rustling clothes, and then, “Stop your perversions.”

i had to put my top three "thinking about this makes me want to scream" thoughts (there are many other aspects of atz lore that make me feel ill) in a notes document bcs typing it as posts on here would've taken So Long but!! feel free to enjoy my insanity
SEONGHWA & YEOSANG PARALLELS Both SH's and YS' character arcs from World A (Fever Diaries) revolved around rules, boundaries that constrict you and never stepping over the line, and how they each overcame those hurdles (one difference is that while SH's rules and borders were self-imposed, YS' were placed onto him by his parents). Their character arcs mirror each other's greatly, and it's why I think them being paired together in both the Bouncy and Not Okay MVs is genius. In Bouncy, they're both part of a biker gang. Stereotypically, motorbikes and gangs are seen as 'rebellious' activities, which goes to highlight how they've both grown from their rule-bound, younger selves. In Not Okay, SH and YS are again paired together. This MV, as many have already said, draws even heavier inspiration from ATEEZ' World A selves (Fever Diaries), with all of the members/characters. Though I may be borrowing a bit from the IRL "Seonghwa is the mom of the group" dynamic here, it does feel like the scenes with SH and YS together have a sort of mentor-disciple feel to them. It makes it feel like SH recognized a part of his own old self (bound by rules, scared of freedom, caged) in YS and took him under his wing (I'm also using this figure of speech here bcs YS has a lot of bird imagery to him). YUNHO'S ROLE IN BOUNCY Though I at first thought it would have made more sense for YH to be part of the biker gang, since he's canonically the one who owns a motorbike, him working undercover at an auto-repair/auto customs shop does also fit him quite well. His brother died in an accident involving a vehicle. While YH's job as a car mechanic was primarily just a cover-up, it also highlights the part of his character that is still scarred by his brother's death: he fixes cars, making sure any accidents that may happen are not caused by something internal. SAN'S ROLE AS THE 'FACE' AND HIS SELF-SACRIFICE San, as stated in his Fever Diaries entry, has a problem with abandonment: he was always forced to move away after only a few months, and thus couldn't make friends. He may have decided to take fate into his own hands and stay with ATEEZ, but I don't think that means he overcame his issues when it comes to personal relationships: I think his fear of losing his friends (his family, really) morphed into an obsession to keep them safe, which had a side effect of him developing self-sacrificing tendencies. In Guerrilla/THE WORLD: MOVEMENT Trailer, he's seen running away from WORLD Z authority. While many of the other members work in secret, often disguised or from afar, San is front-and-center (this also ties in with his character being tied to movement/running: in Fever Diaries he is running against the movement of the escalator; in WORLD: MOVEMENT, he is running; in WORLD: OUTLAW, he is boxing; in Not Okay, he is running). There was also a theory that San might have been acting as the 'face' of ATEEZ in World Z, despite Hongjoong being the captain. This could be another instance of San putting himself at the front (putting himself in danger) in order to protect his members. His role in Bouncy continues to highlight this characteristic of his: he's a boxer (a sport with a lot of movement, as well as violence) in an underground fighting rink (as such, making himself public and known). He is actively risking hurting himself for the goal of the group. (It is also to note, while the ATEEZ appearing in Halazia are a completely different ATEEZ from the ones appearing in the Fever, World and Golden Hour series (at least, to my belief and understanding), that San also appears to be sacrificing himself at the end, when the 'ball' falls on him)
