yeah the learning curve in df is lowkey insane, but once it clicks it gets very addicting to test insane stuff on your poor little guys. And with clay it re-sparked a little after I tried to do one every day of October. Only did 10 days in the end, but I'm quite satisfied despite being amateurish

the idea is to shield the fortress entirely by building several layers that go all the way up to the ceiling. Since all th dwarves are above ground, Im betting hard on the enemies pathfinding not digging down to get them, and instead having to face the walls

Its really satisfying to see the three of them training at the same time. In a year all will be able to land 100% headshoots. Lets hope by then I have enough Iron to craft thousands of iron bolts.

After a very annoying bug I managed to make marksdwarves keep training by extending their range a little. I still produce wooden bolts but because there's three practicing now, they will get depleted faster than I make them, eventually avoiding bloat.

I have set the population cap to 50 total as of now, and made bedrooms for everyone. I want to prepare a squad of at least 3 before I keep going. Ambushes can already happen!

The new ranged AI of Dwarf Fortress can be noticed here. Instead of charging like a brute with his crossbow, the moment he has run out of bolts, he darted away to get more. I think I'm going to use a lot more ranged troops from now on...

Incredible! The legendary skill seems to not augment damage (obviously) but it DOES improve aim dramatically. Not only all the shots landed, but they also hit directly on the wren man head. Every single one. With proper bolts this has great one shotting potential. One man army?

the dorms are comign along nicely. But I fear goblins may strike just when I start picking up steam... not good, I need to start a steel industry pronto!

Ugh, the first guildhall petition... fortunately the ol pave the floor with iron to increase room value will do. May eventually turn the whole fort into metal to make stuff luxurious and easier to manage.

So, we're back! 1 year and half later things are still stagnant...

but dorm construction has started, and lots of bolts have been sold! This will boost the economy and attract more migrants so we can get shit built.

Due to resource scarcity, I have given up on uniformed colors for floors and the like. Everything goes. Fuck it. I will fix it later. Or not. At this pace there's no ''later''.
