My grandma's Kenmore sewing machine. She bought her new in the early 70s. She was a very fancy machine back in the day. I'm more used to Singer machines so I hope I can thread her right.

I will be sewing this project on my grandmother's vintage Kenmore sewing machine. The cabinet it is in is currently living its best life as my sister's computer desk.

My mom doesn't have any fabric marking pens, but soap works. Make do with what you have.

Today's vacation sewing adventure: Mom's scissor collection. Luckily she uses right handed scissors despite being left handed. Some of these scissors are antique. And they work, but the winner was a modern pair of Fiskars. Which is also the brand of scissors I use at home.

I'm at my mom's and while I sent my sister everything she needed to make her costume, I am going to have to do it myself. So I asked my mom for her sewing tools. I'm just not going to ask her how old her tape measure is. 😥 I should probably tell her they stretch out of shape.

I think this costume is nearly ready. Which is good because I leave in less than a week and have an entire other costume to sew.

I think I'll add a quick black wash before I glue down the hat badge. The hat I bought is a pretty good match for the suit I'm altering. I really feel like this costume is coming together.

I'm not happy with how the painting is going so far. Maybe a few more coats will help. But this is definitely the low point of this project.

Foam work isn't my least favorite part of cosplay. That honor goes to wig styling. But it's close to. I'll power through it though. The badge for Deckerd's hat is coming together at least.

I'm really proud of how the shirt turned out though. I had to paint the pattern myself and I do not paint.

For my daughter's birthday I decided to make her a doll of her blorbo. It was going so well until I tried to style the hair. I'm going to have to start over on that from scratch.
