After retiring from the CNRS, he returned to Prague in 2014, where he continued to work at Charles University and remained deeply committed to mentoring numerous students.

In addition to leaving a profound scientific legacy in anthropology, Jaro held a prominent place within both the Czech and French scientific communities.
After his time at the Institut de Paléontologie Humaine in Paris, he spent nearly 25 years at the PACEA @pacea.bsky.social laboratory in Bordeaux.
