Given the process of the album cover, I guess it makes sense that the working title of this album was “Me Me Me”. That title was *me* reminding myself (and I) that after decades of fear, I was finally truly 100% following my heart. I highly recommend it… following your heart.

FIRST FLIGHT! Named “First Flight” because this album is my own *first flight*. This track began as a very simple melody, soft and sweet. It was a bit of a response to previously writing Opethish, which is crushing and heavy. The opposite.

I forgot to mention in the interview, the origin of the track name, MARMALADE ROAD. So, this song started as a “jam track” for improvisation practice. It later grew and evolved into the epic instrumental it is now. And that evolution sparked the name. Jam👉Marmalade. Track👉Road. It’s that simple.

Opethish. I hurt my hand, which eventually needed surgery. So, no guitar playing for a while. Silver lining… I made a song without guitar. Eventually I added bass and classical guitar. However the song was born out of restriction.
