This part is really critical. Mr Deepfakes was a hub for abusers teaching each other and collaborating as well as one of the first places I observed advertising for nudify apps. Sadly this is too little too late but I’m glad to see it.

...the defendant is claiming the STEER Act, does not apply retroactively i.e. the District can't sue for speeding tickets that were issued prior to the act. I am not a lawyer but that sounds...not right? Anyways I guess we'll see how this one and others play out.

...gave their friends the plate number and they stole a car of the identical make and model and created copies of the plates to do so. For the former issue (that the car was stolen at the time of the tickets) I will note that there is existing process to contest tickets when a car is stolen. Also...

Similarly, Andre Bowman says he has "never had this happen before" but that he is "trying to fix it."

Earl D. Curtis, who also struck and injured a 12-year old (for which he was convicted of reckless driving), seems to admit responsibility for the tickets and says "lets work out something."

Anna J Cooper was a phenomenal person and interestingly also a resident of the LeDroit Park neighborhood.

Beautiful day for a bike ride and great to see the red paving down on the 11th St NW bus priority project!

Interesting fact: there is only one contractor on the East Coast who does the durable red paving for bus lanes so there was a slight delay in getting the bus lanes fully done.

This post is getting a lot of traction on the other place and reminds me of the smaller ways climate change affects local govt.

Normally DGS and DPW stop mowing public spaces in September when it gets colder and most of the weeds die.

It was 75 degrees today. We need to plan for new conditions.
