When it comes to VAR reviews the only answer is centralized review like the NFL does. They might not always be right but they'll be a lot more consistent. Just keep Howard Webb out of there.

I also just realized you wrote The Bright Ages. I just finished that one a couple weeks ago. I loved the device of using individuals as references throughout that era. Really good. I'll look for more of your stuff.

I read this book not too long ago. It was great. This era of the Carolingians was a hole in my sense of European history. I find that it is the missing link between the end of the Roman Empire and medieval and then renaissance Europe. Recommend.

Thank you for pointing out Gyökeres' stock rising today. One thing I noticed is that unless it's a breakaway he is closely double-teamed the whole game so they couldn't double Madueke (Saka must have been jealous). His value is more than scoring goals. The other team treats him like a threat.

Perhaps if she'd spoken this plainly and honestly on campaign she may have had a shot. She wasn't this way as a senator but once she decided to run for President I don't think we ever saw the real Kamala every again.
