Some slime growth on a RAIN-4 in a sink. Could use cleaning/scraping sooner, before the slime lets go. And could use more hours of light (all GEM5 lights should be plugged in).

This SURF2 or 2x is cleaned/harvested. Note more growth around the two bubble holes in the middle; the other two holes are water drains. The light is behind.

SURF4x

The big SURF4x has been the choice for reef sumps lately.

The new DROP-10 has water circulation holes small enough to keep almost all livestock out; this way you can keep livestock in your sump without them eating your filter.

The DROP-10 with the growth tray in place, ready to set in sump.

The bottom of the growth tray: Catches growth that hangs down; is white to reflect more light; and has funnels to catch bubbles from the air tubings and direct the bubbles up the Green Grabber walls and strings.

Another look at the DROP-10. The biggest upflow scrubber yet (10 cubes) which is even bigger than our SURF-8.

A new unit is coming soon... a 10-sized (5 for freshwater) submersible unit that pulls up with one hand for cleaning. That's all we know.

This RAIN2 growth shows a couple things. First, the reason you don't see this thick growth on other scrubbers is because their lights are too weak. Second,,,

This RAIN2 look fairly new, and needs a bit more flow off the bottom of the screen. But look how easy the tray is to clean compared to box style scrubbers.

Sometimes your SURF2 harvest looks like this.

This HOG3® (and other HOG models) can go on the glass of the display if you don't have a sump.
March 25, 2025 at 2:52 PM
The HOG2x® is the largest scrubber for freshwater. A large flat Green Grabber® back wall, which is best for FW slime; no strings which get caught up when you brush it in your sink; and six LEDS which is the most you can get with just one power supply.

This DROP1.2 or 1.2x or 1.4 in a larger system is growing live food. Also it helps reduce glass cleaning by a few days. If you wanted to filter, you would need a larger scrubber size, or more of them.
