As bad as that would be, you could still reasonably expect a good outcome from FDR. He was brilliant, had no significant conflicts of interests, and was loyal to his allies and his own country. He would have at least acted in good faith. You can say none of that about Donald.

The BLS reporting an unflattering number? Yes, it's downright bewildering. I can't imagine how bad the real inflation figure is.

The article mentions larger vehicles and distracted driving, but not what feels like a concerted, organized, right wing effort to demonize pedestrians and cyclists. There's a deep level of vitriol out there that needs examination: Both active, violent aggression on the roads and hate speech online.

The one common theme among every GOP "issue" from the last twenty years is that no elected Dem ever mentioned it until the right-wing media had already elevated it. They can fabricate an entire movement from a solitary anonymous tweet. Or from nothing at all.

The key issue with your argument James, is you think it would take a week to create a nationwide camera system and database for facial recognition. If such a thing existed in the US, Trump would surely have abused it immediately. But it's not in place, and it's an effort that would take years.

For the record, I don't think the cancellation was about profits. You can lose on a tentpole, you can make adjustments. But poor online performance is a huge piece of the post-hoc justification. In terms of bottom line and overall reach.

Exactly, it's about strategy, not quantity (or even quality). It's called "click bait" because it works. Obviously subscribers and broadcast ratings don't mean much, when Seth Meyers show is more profitable. The $ difference betweenn 500k and 5mm daily YT viewers is in the millions.

I'm surprised they didn't split his monologue into 3 separate clips, such is the incompetence of his YouTube team. Broadcast is dying and his online presence has been bafflingly terrible.

I am sure the other late night shows make a significant portion of their revenue on YouTube. For every person watching broadcast TV there are dozens watching the clips online the next day.
