All the talk we used to have about "moral communities" seems so laughable now. Who cares? At the end of the day it all comes down to you and your personal strengths and weaknesses. Communities turn to ash and blow away.

I wish that I were not a Christian, because I feel that I am actively corrosive to the faith of those around me through my own personal struggles. It is only because I am utterly compelled that I claim such a noble title.

There's nothing wrong with admitting that conservatism is primarily aesthetic, cultural, and lifestyle-oriented. There's nothing wrong with saying that you want to live around like-minded people and be immersed in a traditional community and lifestyle.
That is compatible with liberalism.
