(3/3) So why not step away from message framing that reinforce the frame that people who aren't gainfully employed deserve nothing. That we're on our own. Say "ordinary people," not "working people."

(2/3) But "ordinary people" benefit from programs which give us security if something bad happens. Our lives are better if we know we'd be okay if something catastrophic happens, e.g., sudden physical disability, prolonged battles with cancer. Sometimes ordinary folks just can't be working.
