I’m sure you already know this video, but this is exactly the engagement needed for this kind of transition. It’s not a top down thing. It has to be connected with the citizens of the city.The bike movement in Amsterdam in the 70ies started due to same traffic problems in the city by the people.

I strongly believe this shift is also feasible in Athens. Main streets may be full of cars,but side streets could easily converted into „bike streets“. Also Athens is very dense.Distances aren’t that big as they seem. This shift would increase the quality of life and reveal the real beauty of Athens
