Says a lot about the state of the world that this is one of the more hopeful things I’ve seen today.

These last 5 years have been depressingly revelatory. Really wish I could go back in time and tell my imposter syndrome riddled younger self that many people in positions of power/influence are in fact very stupid and you’re doing fine kid.

I read it when I was at uni, and honestly probably too young in some ways. I hadn’t truly been in love or had my heart broken yet, but once I had, Anna was one of the first things I thought of. It was a book I grew with, instead of it growing on me. I love it and I would love to hear your thoughts!

I read further and now I’m unexpectedly emotional. This should probably be my bio.

I am aware of the painting and Gentileschi’s history. However I have not heard of the resemblance between Tassi and Holofernes before (though it has been some time since I read about it - perhaps time to revisit Garrard)

Is there a source for this? I would like to read more.
