✨Reading Update✨

Last month was one of my favorites of the year 🙌🏾 I’ve been working on Crime and Punishment for a minute now. It’s my first full length Russian Lit, so I’ve been pacing myself through. Within the first chapter of Assata I could tell it was going to be an all time fave

Highly recommend everyone read “What Does Israel Fear From Palestine?”. It’s 120 pages and gives a condensed explanation of Palestine-Israel up to 2024.

“The very high human and material cost of the war in Gaza proves that what Israel fears from Palestine is Palestine's very existence.”

My reads always reflect what I care most about/ prioritize… it took some time for me to get to this point, but exploring my different interests through literature has been life changing 🙌🏾

I did not expect to enjoy this book as much as I am. I’ve been doing a lot of reading surrounding communism and theory this year, and it’s nice to find a read whose language isn’t so stifling lol

An oppressive state is only as oppressive as we allow them to be. The power will always be with the people, not the few.

“Wherever you are, whatever sand you can throw on the gears of genocide, do it now. If it’s a handful, throw it. If it’s a fingernail full, scrape it out and throw. Get in the way however you can.”

“When those dying are deemed human enough to warrant discussion, discussion must be had. When they’re deemed nonhuman, discussion becomes offensive, an affront to civility.”

What I’m working on this week… Civil Disobedience is the perfect read for the political climate in America rn… my first V.E. Schwab book, and it’s about lesbian vampires. I’m confident I will enjoy myself. I’ve been reading Bloodmarked for too long, but Bree had me stressed 😭

What I’m working on this week… I have too many books that I’m shuffling through, 4 buddy reads going, and trying to set time aside to make TikTok videos… but I wouldn’t have it any other way 😂😭 the chaos is comforting… most of the time

“Just for a moment, for the greater good, cease to believe that this particular group of people, from whose experiences we are already so safely distanced, are human.”
