Today's very rainy & windy walk was sponsored by a Western Bluebird and a Song Sparrow & also an American Kestrel; our smallest falcon. They have false eye spots, so it can be hard to tell which way they're facing. This one was braving the storm, probably hoping for a drowning mouse for a meal.

Today's walk was sponsored by a Song Sparrow as well as a California Towhee whom had just dropped an acorn from the peak of the roof onto a cement pad to break it; a behavior I'd not seen in this species before. Lots of broken shells observed on the cement pad.

Today was a good day. We got a few minutes of sunshine, so dad and I tended to the garden. We planted the lettuce, brocoli, and cauliflower starts and picked some winter cauliflower.

I've been taking a photo of a bird or wildlife on my daily walks with Pepper and texting them to family with the caption "today's walk sponsored my..." I'm going to start sharing those here. I went to the dog park instead of walking today, so today's outing was sponsored by Pepper's friend Bobba!
