suburban housewife. Bossy.
Yes, tariffs are real money reflected in government coffers. But it's just redistributed money from American businesses and consumers. So he's saying, "Hey!!!! Look at all the money the government took from you! Hooray! Tariffs are working!" Why are so many people not seeing this?

Excellent point. Ordering shoes now.

Another way to understand this is that the industry is anticipating many more people with lesser (or no) insurance. These people will still need healthcare and will show up at hospitals. So costs are going up in the whole sector, with a big gap in revenue caused by the lack of subsidies.

All of the carriers responded by dramatically raising the premiums of commercial insurers as well, because uncertainty anywhere in the insurance universe is going to raise costs. Ask anyone who is in Open Enrollment now at work - premiums for the same plans up 20-30%.

Not the main point but it’s not just those 24 million people. In October when it first became clear the subsidies were disappearing, the carriers immediately raised their renewal rates for employer plans as well, citing uncertainty in the overall market. My company’s Blue Cross rates went up 32%.

I have a relative who posts that "they" killed Charlie Kirk, just for talking to people about ideas. Not this one single person. "They," as in, the democrats.

YES! I did a search a few days ago on Fox for Juan Orlando Hernandez and there was nothing. (Have not checked since then.)

so true. The idea that an individual consumer would negotiate for his health care plan is ludicrous. I run a small practice and I have three full-time staff who ONLY verify insurance and try to obtain authorizations.

if I am looking at my phone for a while and then try to switch to my computer, I might not be able to see the computer very well. Like I imagine my lens hardening and unable to flex quickly. So I go outside and look a things far away and when I come back after a few minutes, it's fine.

friends of mine set up a night for their young-adult children and their various SOs to do their taxes as a group. Brilliant.

correct. He spoke at a conference I attended in my late 20s and he flat-out said many young women don't belong in the finance field. I looked around like "Did I just hear that correctly?" and people were, like, "Yeah, he says stuff like that all the time. he's an asshole."

and, BTW, I obviously have no idea whether he participated in the sexual abuse. But there's SOMETHING there he clearly needs to hide: he may be shielding family or friends. He may be hiding other events that opened him up to blackmail (financial crimes, threats, marital affairs) - who knows.

agree. They totally believed his protestations that he was not involved and his promise, therefore, to release the files. MTG at least is gobsmacked that he is attacking her for helping him prove his non-involvement. She seems to be seeing the light. How Mace still doesn't see it is stupefying.

credit where credit is due, though: he apparently did bring back the word "grocery," which is an old-fashioned beautiful word all of us forgot about until he reminded us. Thank you, sir!

The DOJ will claim they can no longer open the files because they are actively investigating the Democrats Trump told Bondi to go after last week. Some will be ruined (as they should be) but Trump and his friends will continue to be protected.
November 17, 2025 at 5:15 AM
But please don't say, "Well, E Jean and Letitia survived" as if "survival" is enough. It's not. The harassment can get very ugly and dangerous, especially if MAGAts come to the defense of their Dear Leader. These women have suffered enough.
November 17, 2025 at 1:33 AM
and I believe they will. Members of Congress have offered to shield them through the process of releasing the files but if that fails, some have said they will simply release the names of clients on their own.
November 17, 2025 at 1:30 AM
Now that Trump has told Bondi to investigate the Democrats, the DOJ will not release the files because now there is an active ongoing investigation, which is the same reason the Garland DOJ did not consider releasing the files (Maxwell, which just resolved with a SCOTUS denial in September).

Often women are harassed if they go public. Epstein, Maxwell, and their abusers are rich and powerful. Many people knew they were being abused and no one helped them. So they are very cautious right now about what they say and they worry for their safety. Look what happened to Virginia Guiffre.
