Earlier this yr, I started evaluating a paid search engine Kagi bcoz Google turned trash. I started off using the "Starter" plan. Today I ran out of the yrly quota. Turns out I'm not a "normal" user who only does a handful of searches every day. My monthly avg is ~400!

I now need to pony up more

Wtf. I had asked some question back in February related to the Bengali language. Chatgpt apparently created a memory at some time that "I prefer responses in Bengali".

Suddenly in the middle of a convo it switched to Bengali.
🤦 Had to go delete all the memories. There was a lot of obsolete crap

I can't believe I used Homebrew for so many years without discovering how easy it is to put a (version controlled, preferably chezmoi or some other dotfile system) Brewfile in ~/.homebrew and just run "brew bundle install -g" to keep only the important packages updated

Many decades ago, when participating in the CBSE class 12 math exam, I mugged up ULike after Ulike to ace the exam. The format of the exam discouraged critical thinking and encouraged mugging up question patterns.

lmao. The world keeps making less and less sense to me. Is this a sign that I am getting too old?

Hah. Idiocracy thought it would take till 2330 for FDA to get sold to private interests. Turns out reality is stranger^Wquicker than fiction.

This made me laugh, both at the absurdity and how likely it is to actually happen.

First take, "oh those stupid Chatgpt users!"

Second take, after reading the comparison to online streaming, , after binging on 8 episodes of Squid Game: ... (whistling nervously looking elsewhere)

Finance related stuff is such a shitshow in Canada. Mishmash of provincial regulations, disconnected accounting etc. I am suspecting anything Quebec is always the outlier.

When finally it admitted that it was wrong and the breaking change did not exist, it still invented a past version/change to explain its mistake.
Even human engineers are not so shameless

It invented a breaking change, when confronted, invented a changelog file, blamed that file for incorrect PR links, invented version numbers.

Demonstration of the absolute crapshoot that even current frontier models are.
I asked Gemini 2.5 pro to analyze and summarize changelog between two versions. Thought text processing is the biggest strength of LLMs.

Huh. Is this more nickel diming? From 2026, GCP is going to charge per condition and per time series in the alert.

Pricing is not that expensive but got to be careful about the timeseries returned from queries.

Pretty diplomatically correct answer from Cloudflare CTO. Leaves open the ambiguous possibility of a surprise infra dependency on GCP, maybe via a third party.
