My earliest memory of the Mayfair was this debacle. After half an hour my old man said "I'll meet you in the foyer afterwards" (I think he went to the pub over the road).

Yes...we had a glorious theatre in Melbourne named the Metro. Owned by MGM it screened nothing but their films during the 40s - 60s. After the studio went broke in the 70s they sold it off. By the early 80s it had become the Mayfair and was screening the likes of this...

I recall seeing on TV, as a kid, a feature film he made in which the bank account details of some stolen loot were tattooed onto the bums of a number of different sexy girls and he had to find them.

The 70s were a different time...
