Act Normal by Nancy Viva Davis Halifax examines historical (& ongoing) institutionalisation of disabled people in "Canada". Poems at times deliberately opaque, other times lyrical, always searing. Evidence of how trauma affects language & how language both succeeds and fails to write us out of harm.

Thanks, and ugh. That's what I thought but hoped for a miracle. Do you know if it's for UK distro only, or Europe too?

Interestingly, JCVI recommended varied vaccines in their 2025-26 statement last November. But seems unclear how UK will provide protein-based vaccines. www.gov.uk/government/p...

After careful review, JCVI considered that the data suggests minimal differences in vaccine effectiveness. JCVI does not have a preference for a specific COVID-19 vaccine product in the adult population. However, JCVI advises a preference for having vaccine products based on more than one vaccine platform in the programme, such as mRNA and protein-based vaccines. A programme comprising varied vaccine products would: be more resilient; enable the measurement of important real-world data on relative vaccine effectiveness against hospitalisation and mortality to inform future vaccine policy; provide an alternative for individuals in whom a particular vaccine product is considered clinically unsuitable, for example as a result of anaphylaxis following vaccination. It is expected that COVID-19 vaccines will continue to be updated to match circulating variants on a yearly basis. JCVI advises that, when possible, the latest updated vaccine should be used in a vaccination campaign, provided this does not delay the start of the campaign.

I click my local health board; it links to a different NHS page. Says "some adults" can get MMR - if missed & e.g. planning pregnancy. Different to 1st statement esp pre-1970: "MMR vaccine can be given on request OR if at high risk of exposure." If had only 1 dose, must contact re "eligibility". 3/4

All babies and children in Scotland are eligible for the MMR vaccine. They’ll be offered the MMR vaccine in 2 doses: the first between 12 and 13 months the second at 3 years 4 months Although normally given at these times, if it’s missed, it can be given at any age. Some young people and adults who missed out on their MMR vaccine may also be eligible, like those who are a planning a pregnancy. If you didn’t have 2 doses of the MMR vaccine as a child, you can contact your local NHS immunisation team to discuss your eligibility. Find out how to contact your local NHS immunisation team

NHS states most people born in UK pre-1970 had measles and thus protected (dodgy claim?); MMR given on request or if high risk of exposure. 1970-79: may have been vaxxed vs measles, advised to get MMR. 1980-90: may have only got 1 dose MMR. Advice? Contact GP. 2/4 www.nhsinform.scot/campaigns/mm...

If you were born before that, you may have received the measles vaccine, which was introduced in the UK in 1968. People born in the UK before 1970 are likely to have had a measles infection and are less likely to be at risk. The MMR vaccine can be given on request or if they’re at high risk of exposure. People born in the UK between 1970 and 1979 may have been vaccinated against measles. However, it’s recommended these people get the MMR vaccine, especially if they’re at high risk of exposure. People are considered to be at high risk of exposure if they’re planning on travelling outside of Scotland or are likely to be mixing with lots of new people. People born in the UK between 1980 and 1990 are likely to have been vaccinated against measles. They may have had only one dose of the MMR vaccine. Phone your GP practice and they’ll check your records and advise if you need to be vaccinated. Contact your GP practice If you’ve not received all the vaccines you’re eligible for, arrange an appointment as soon as possible. Find out how to arrange an appointment in your health board area.

Searching "gulf" on Duckduckgo, I get "Gulfstream.com" then "Gulf of America" & "Gulf of America renaming". When I select Gulf of America, 1st suggested article is "Search For: How To Report An Error on Google Maps". Others include "Apple bends the knee & switches to GoA" If I hit "maps", shows GoM.

Scotland: Google auto-completes to "Gulf of Mexico (Gulf of America)" when I type "gulf". Typing "gulf of mexico", I got the same GoM (GoA)- but the map is just bilingual Gulf of Mexico, & Wiki's overview is Gulf of Mexico. On Duckduckgo - where y'all should be when poss - still Gulf of Mexico only.
