Seeing this exchange and we have just lost the plot. The greatest damage the trump era politics has brought to American political discourse is normalizing having a narrative over what is factual reality, and then not feeling any sort of shame about making up stuff because that stuff is convenient.

I think Vance sees the relationship with the far right as a carrot stick relationship. As long as the Carlson aligned republicans are holding the stick it doesn’t matter what the far right wants. Throw them a bone every now and again and keep control.

It works for Trump.
