Exactly. Had the west country and Wales been literally occupied by Germany with trenches on the front line running across the UK, I doubt anyone honest could claim there would've still been British elections

Yes, they're illegal under Ukrainian law during a time of war. You may have noticed a few years back the full scale invasion by a neighbouring country.

Oh, no one honest is saying this, certainly. It's well attested to that it's illegal under Ukrainian law to hold elections when the country is at war - and it stands to reason: when major parts of the country are occupied how could they vote?
