Virtue signalling: is the act of speaking or behaving in a way that’s meant to demonstrate one’s good moral values. Example: a person widely proclaims on social media that they strongly support a certain cause because they want to show others how caring they are, that person is virtue signalling

To be fair, we, the people, hire the government to do a job for us. We pay for the roads, the water, healthcare, literally all of it. The government relies on us, not the other way around. I do support a welfare state, though.
