I love this kind of theorycrafting. You’re taking clues from all over - details we’ve highly curated across a bunch of games. But alas this is very in-depth stuff, and confirming or denying anything here publicly would be irresponsible of me!

Hah, that was Anthony Burch. Seemed fitting for him to finish what he started.

So, that's a lot of fucking people, huh? Well, there are hundreds more across Gearbox, 2K, and external partners who made this game real. And I will always thank @mikeyface.bsky.social for his guidance and believing in me in the first place 10 years ago.

Randy Varnell and Andrew Reiner were constant polestars, endlessly championing the dev team's ideas. And the senior leadership of the game - Graeme Timmins, Adam May, Chris Brock, Anthony Nicholson, Mike Davis, Jimmy Barnett, and Jett Sarrett - were world-class collaborators.

We kicked off BL4 6 years ago, when the narrative department was still young. Randy Pitchford set the challenge in front of us and has been a creative collaborator all the way through. Danny Homan took the initial reins while I took on Wonderlands, and many of his ideas remain.

As a centralized team, Narrative often has to go full-court-press, and so I extend my gratitude and admiration to Amanda Shuckman, Kayla Larson, and Joel Watson for jumping in when we needed you most. And Matt Ward, Cinematics Director - I'd fight a war with you, brother.

Nick Kaun and Ricky Campitelli, our in-house loc specialists, have a task of inhuman scale and yet they make it look easy and professional, even as they stare me in the eye and tell me to explain for a German audience why my pun is funny (it is not, in either language).

Bolstering the voices of Kairos was a blue-ribbon slate of contract writers: Doug Lieblich, Evelyn Lo, Xalavier Nelson Jr., Laura Stringer, Ify Nwadiwe, Miles Luna, Luca Azenaro-Acero, Zoe Calamar, Nessa Cannon, Emma Kidwell, Nicholas Bakewell, and Kate Welch. Work with them.

All of the above writers also took on a full spread of side missions, activities, combat VO, worldbuilding, item naming, ECHO logs, challenges, and too much more to list out here.

Joel McDonald is not only our VO Director, but one of fastest, funniest writers I have ever met. Courtney Walton is our Assistant VO Director and put in serious work on combat grids, location naming, and more. Both of them worked like demons to record the insane amount of dialogue in this game.

Dante Silva brought his creative eye and poetic voice as always. Jamie Marchi made me laugh harder than I had in years. Trin Garritano hit the ground running and gave details the attention they deserved. Anthony Burch knows what he did.

Katherine Vu was in charge of Carcadia Burn for most of development, imbuing life and wit into Levaine, Callis, and the Electi. Josh Trujillo finished out as lead on Carcadia Burn, and his wit and character voice are heard all over the place.

Each of our major zones had a lead writer, a resident expert on the space, missions, and characters in the area. Jordan Lemos took the Fadefields - a tricky challenge given its role in the early game, but he nailed it. If you love Rush, Conway, and the Outbounders, that's Jordan.

Taylor Clark is our Lead Writer. He came on to the project in the final year, but rapidly became a driving force as we landed the project. I love this man. His editorial eye is crucial, and he knows how to bring the best out of any script.
