Yes, I thought that would be the reaction! Thankfully, no one is attempting this in the current AEO scheme.

But the CEEC in this advert of their ASO scheme of overseers are either admitting overseers are just spiritual directors with fancy titles or misunderstanding the role of bishops.

30. In 1978, the Chesterfield Canal between Retford Town Lock and Whitsunday Pie Lock was being dredged when workers found a large coiled chain.

On removing it, they discovered it was attached to a plug in the bottom of the canal—the water drained away, leaving that section of the canal empty.
