I've written a free and accessible guide to Cephalopod Sentience with Alex Schnell, Piero Amodio and Peter Morse, stunningly illustrated by Roksolana Tkach. Please download and share! It's worth it for the illustrations alone! 🐙 thebrooksinstitute.org/sites/defaul...

I've been researching the idea of Unconditional Universal Basic Income since 2013. Here's a collection of findings I've compiled from various UBI experiments and studies of cash transfer programs around the world.

This will be a VERY LONG and ongoing thread focused entirely on empirical evidence. 🧵

Happy Hardcore History Day everyone. I was really hoping to get this out before 2024 ended but it wasn't quite ready. But it is now.
I hope you like it!

Another great episode this week from
@jerusalem.bsky.social on Good on Paper, learning from New Zealand's response to housing crisis.

One of the best podcasts around IMO - only been 6 months, but consistently great interviews on important, interesting topics

Okay, early days, but here's a quick starter pack for Universal Basic Income with some accounts to follow besides mine, and the UBI feed that's super useful to leverage to find fellow UBI supporters and amplify their UBI content.

Reply if you want to be added as UBI-focused.

The Edge of Sentience (print edition) is released TODAY in North America. And the online edition will remain free forever at academic.oup.com/book/57949. It's been great to see the ideas already generating lots of discussion and commentary.

Not groundbreaking insight here but I think the skills that will matter the most in the coming decade is being adaptive, quickly grasping new developments, being highly agentic, being good at specifying intent in detail, and using tools/AI early and well.
